Central California Scientific Instrument Sales Consultant
Misha came to DSS with several years of both sales and research experience under his belt. While earning his degrees in Biology and Psychology at the University of California-San Diego, Misha worked in a biotech lab studying phage display in yeast. The skills he learned in that position ranged from basic cell counting and spectrophotometry to advanced flow cytometry. Knowledge of those techniques earned him a graduate student position at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging. At the Buck, Misha earned a Ph.D in Behavioral Genetics and Molecular Biology while working with Drosophila and C. elegans studying the basics of how nutrition affects aging. It was during this time that Misha sharpened his skills in fluorescence and dissecting microscopy, centrifugation, and western blot imaging. Although he greatly enjoyed his graduate studies, Misha decided he wanted to utilize his extensive research background and passion of interacting with other scientists to pursue a career in life science sales.
Following completion of his Ph.D in 2012, Misha took a sales manager position at BioPioneer, Inc. There he became an expert in providing and supporting reagents such as Taq polymerase, qPCR mixes, and western blotting materials to academic researchers at prominent universities like UCLA, City of Hope, CalTech, and USC. Misha decided to join DSS in 2014 in the hopes of interacting with a larger range of customer types and to expand his breadth of knowledge of biomedical equipment. In his two years with DSS, Misha as become adept at working with customers to provide them with best advice and consultation possible. From putting together startup lab equipment packages to providing training on his products, Misha truly enjoys interacting with his customers and looks forward to every new opportunity.
